Bodine's Newsstand truck is now serving pub grub and fan-favorite fish and chips on the streets of Evansville. Owned by Ryan Bodine, formerly the manager of Ri Ra Irish Pub, the truck offers a variety of dishes influenced by Bodine's extensive experience in the restaurant industry. With a focus on consistency and quality, the food truck, run with the help of Bodine's four kids, has become a local hit.
Originally not planning for a food truck, Bodine and his wife, Deena, stumbled upon an old concessions trailer on Facebook Marketplace. After a remarkable renovation, the truck now specializes in fish and chips, featuring beer-battered fish and hand-cut fries served fresh and hot in eight minutes or less. The menu also includes six-ounce burgers seasoned with Bodine's secret spice mix, and a grilled chicken, bacon, and avocado sandwich.
While fish and chips remain a top seller, the truck occasionally features special items suitable for different events. Bodine aims to expand to private events in the future but, for now, operates at least once a week, with more appearances during the summer. Stay updated on service times and days through the truck's Facebook page or contact 812-204-2729 for more information.
