Auburn and United Way Join Forces for Food Truck Fundraiser

The City of Auburn and the United Way of Lee County are teaming up to host a unique fundraising event this August: "Food Truck for United Way." This innovative campaign aims to raise nearly $1 million in just five months, a testament to the urgent need for community support.

By partnering with local food trucks, the event offers a delicious and convenient way for residents to contribute to the United Way's mission. For the entire month of August, food trucks will be stationed at various city facilities, providing a delightful culinary experience while also making a positive impact on the community.

“We wanted to try something new this year,” said Gabby Filgo of Auburn Parks & Recreation. "By placing food trucks at different city locations throughout August, we hope to reach a wider audience and generate more support for the United Way."

To incentivize participation, 10% of every purchase made at these food trucks will be donated directly to the United Way of Lee County. This simple yet effective approach allows community members to enjoy their favorite treats while knowing their dollars are making a difference.

Kerissa Helms of the United Way expressed gratitude for the City of Auburn's unwavering support. "They are a tremendous partner," she said. "Their involvement in our events, including providing volunteers, is invaluable."

The United Way of Lee County plays a vital role in addressing local needs, such as education, health, and financial stability. By supporting this campaign, residents can help create a stronger, more resilient community for everyone.

So, mark your calendars and get ready to indulge in delicious food while supporting a worthy cause. Visit one of the participating food trucks in Auburn this August and savor the satisfaction of knowing your purchase is helping to build a brighter future for the community.
