Construction is underway on a highly anticipated new development along Cape Coral Parkway. The Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina is set to bring a unique dining experience to the city, offering a variety of food truck options, a waterfront bar, and a marina.
Gary Aubuchon, a partner in the project, expressed his excitement about the development. "We're thrilled to have secured this 3.1-acre waterfront property in Cape Coral," he said. "Opportunities like this are rare, and we believe this will be a fantastic addition to the community."
As construction progresses, Aubuchon shared that the project's distinctive rooftop bar pavilion will soon become visible to passersby. "Once the rooftop is in place, it will be a striking feature that will stand out from the surrounding area," he explained.
One of the key elements of the Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina is its diverse selection of food trucks. Aubuchon revealed that eight of the ten permanent food trucks have already been selected from a pool of over 140 applicants. The chosen vendors were evaluated based on affordability, service quality, and the quality of their food.
"We want to create an elevated dining experience that is accessible to everyone," Aubuchon emphasized. "Given the current economic climate, it's important to us that this new venue is a welcoming place for all."
Despite the project's overall progress, Aubuchon mentioned that there have been some challenges, particularly with obtaining permits for the marina. "We've been waiting for the final release of our marina permits for over a year," he said. "While this has been a setback, we've adapted our plans to accommodate the delays."
As construction continues, Aubuchon shared that the project's seating capacity has been expanded to include additional options for special events and peak times. In addition to the permanent 300 seats, the park will now be able to accommodate several hundred more guests.
The Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina is expected to be completed by next spring. As the project nears completion, the community can look forward to a new and exciting dining destination that will offer a unique waterfront experience.
